Ring in the new year at the First Night First Day Boston 2017 celebration! Join Jungle Jim at 12:30 PM at Boston Public Library, Johnson Building, for his amazing balloon artistry, magic, comedy, and improv! It's fun for all ages! Using over a dozen volunteers, the crowd will be overjoyed and roaring with laughter! Spoiler Alert! Jim will finish his show by climbing inside of a 6-foot balloon! Amazing!

For over 40 years, Boston’s First Night has been a cherished tradition and a signature event for our city. It has been a successful New Year’s Eve celebration of artistic performances, the wonders of the season and the beginning of a new year.

In keeping with this fantastic Boston tradition, the First Night celebration in 2017 will continue to be free and open to all. Entertainment and special attractions will be focused in Copley Square, and the Boston Common. Many of the beloved traditions of First Nights past will be retained, including the People’s Procession at 6:00 PM, fantastic ice sculptures, light displays and Fireworks; including the family-fireworks over the common at 7:00 PM produced by the Mugar Foundation and our signature Countdown to Copley firework display in Copley Square at Midnight. In addition, arts and musical performances will take place in numerous inside and outside venues around the heart of the event from noon to midnight.

First Night is very excited to announce our partnership with NECN/NBC Boston to live broadcast the First Night festivities for 2017. This will include live on-air talent stationed in Copley Square from 6:00 PM through Midnight.
